Our “Essen City” route offers a bird's-eye view of the fascinating contrast between nature, culture, and industrial history.
The flight begins with a view of the idyllic Lake Baldeney and the magnificent Villa Hügel, followed by the historic Baldeney Castle. You will pass Haus Scheppen, the striking Überruhr waterworks, and reach Essen city center with Kennedyplatz, Essen Cathedral, and the Old Synagogue.
You will experience modern Essen above Limbecker Platz, the imposing Thyssen-Krupp headquarters, and the green Krupp Park. Cultural highlights such as the Philharmonic Hall, Aalto Theater, Stadtgarten, and Museum Folkwang round off the picture.
The route continues via Rüttenscheid and the extensive Grugapark to the exhibition grounds and Essen's city forest. Finally, you will see the historic Krupp settlement of Brandenbusch – and Villa Hügel once again – before landing gently.
